Folks - I have received an Email through the website from Karen Fletcher asking if her 15 year old son can attend run coaching on Thursday (tonight). I don't have his first name but he competes in a form of triathlon with horse time trials, running and another discipline. I've explained he'd be welcome to attend but would need to join the club if he was to continue training sessions - I appreciate there may be an issue with him being under 16 and that Kinross Youth Tri may be a better option but I am away from home at the moment and can;t double check anything until I get back.
In the meantime please can I ask for whoever is attending the run sessions to look out for him and welcome him if he attends. he knows he's to pay at the track.
I will not make run training until next week otherwise I'd have met him myself. Regards Cathy

Guys, There may be some youngg lads there (S6, so not that young), so I have asked Alec to come along to organise things.
How about the following programme:
Two warm up laps. As usual, start with a slow jog and build up to a fast jog.
1 lap medium pace 1 lap fast pace 1 lap recovery pace
Repeat above 4 or 5 times depending on what time allows. Try not to take a break between sets - use the recovery lap for recovery.
Two laps cool down. Progressively getting slower.

From the Coaches point of view it went well. Hope the attendees enjoyed it, particularly the 4 x 200m sprints at the end. They looked like they where enjoying themselves, or maybe those smiles were grimace's.
The S6 lads didn't show.
Cheers, Alec.

It was a good session. The sprints at the end were fun and a change. I could feel my hamstrings the following morning though.
