Thanks Ken for the outing and I too echo the sentiments of my fellow riders thanks for the hill! ;D I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone who made me feel very welcome on my first bike outing. I look forward to many more over the coming season.

Dear all,
This Sunday's ride, 29th heading North but not too far!
The plan is Luncarty, Stanley, Murthly, Waterloo, Bankfoot, Moneydie, Pitcairngreen, Almondbank and back to Perth. A mixture of fast and flat (depending on wind speed and direction) and a few hills to get the legs and lungs working though not long climbs.
Usual meet, 10:00am South Inch car park.
See you there and hopefully the weather will continue to be kind and ice free.

Dear all,
In the spirit of 'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger' the route this Sunday will be a wee bit longer with a few hills. The route is over Kinnoull to Balthayock, over to Gallowmyre/Rait, along the north side of the Carse to Kinnaird, across to Abernyte then downhill to Inchture, along to Errol, Glencarse and back over Balthayock (oh ya boy!) to Perth. Approx 32 miles at a very moderate pace and no-one will be left behind. It will most likely be a case of follow me I'm right behind you.... Hope to see you at the usual spot at 10am on Sunday 5th. Cheers Annette

Annette, unfortunately (or fortunately!!) I'll not make it along this Sunday. Would have liked to attempt Balthayock again but, another time :-)

Tomorrow is looking like it might be pretty icy so we will have to make a call or whether we are still going to carry on fairly last minute. I live up at Guildtown so its always icy here when its often fine in town. Who is planning to come along who lives in Perth that I can phone at 9ish to make a decision? Will post here just after 9 so check the forum if there is any doubt. Ta

Annette, Monikie has been called off. I'll take a quick scoot up round past Balthayock about 08:30. Give me a bell at 9 and you can make the decision.

Sorry folks no bike ride this morning. Ivan kindly went and had a look at the roads and any thing smaller than 'main road' is pretty treacherous with ice and some now on the higher parts. A lower level route was considered but also ruled out on grounds of safety. Its too early in the season for breaking bikes or wrists! A day for swimming and gymming.

Good Morning Folks - please click on this link for Sunday's route. It is 33 miles but has an option to do 26 for those who need an alternative. www.goodrunguide.co.uk/RouteViewer.asp?RouteType=S&RouteID=246587My thoughts for this Sunday 10am - start and finish at Pitcairngreen so that we can have a bowl of soup or a beer at the end of the cycle. Also an option to practice some transition on the green. Pitcairngreen Inn are OK about us parking in their car park in the morning and I said I'd give them a guide as to how many are likely to stay for soup. (so please let me know if you intend to stay) Same as last week - I will take a run round the route on Saturday and post a message here as early as possible on Saturday night/Sunday morning as to the conditions/suitability for the ride to take place. Please have a personal alternative fitness option available 'just in case'. Cathy

I checked the route last night - a bit of mud/debris here and there but otherwise OK - bikes will get mucky. The ford is shallow so bikes can be clean for about 3 seconds!!! I've had a few requests for a shorter route so the attached should help - it interacts with the original longe route so we still see each other. www.goodrunguide.co.uk/RouteViewer.asp?RouteType=S&RouteID=248496
