An early heads up for those wanting to recce the course ahead of the big day. Who's interested? Before I make plans it would be good to know numbers. If it's ok with you all I'd prefer to go out on Saturday 26th, rather than the Sunday. Is that ok?
The route will comprise the Lomond and Dunning Glen sections. We'll cycle down to Kinross and back from Milnathort. Should be approx 60 - 70 miles.
Let me know your thoughts.
Cheers, Alec

Hi Alex
I might not be able to make the recce on the 26th but will be fine for the one the following week. If the recce of the full course is on 27th March, I'll be fine for that date as well.
Cheers
Iain

I can't make the 26th as I've got Junior Tri Club. Would have been up for the 27th.

Calling All Ladies
I'm aware that there are quite a few of us signed up for the blue route for Sportive - anyone up for a ladies get together (maybe it could grow into a regular session).
I'm happy to put something together for either Saturday 5th or Sunday 13th March.

Ok, we’re going to cycle down to Kinross and do the Kinross to Dunning section of the Sportive route. Next week we’ll do the section between Dunning and Kinross.
ROUTE: Perth - Glenfarg – Milnathort – Kinross – Leslie – Falkland – Lindores – Newburgh – Abernethy – Glenfarg – Path O Condie – Dunning – Perth.
DISTANCE: Approx 60 – 70 miles, at least 5 climbs (a few steep ones).
MEETING POINT: 09:00 outside Tesco on the Edinburgh Road.
Are you IN or OUT? Pass this email on to anybody you think might like to join us.
Cheers, Alec.
PS: Bring plenty to eat and drink.

I'd like to thanks Alec for organising the two Kinross Sportive training rides. I managed to take part in both and thoroughly enjoyed them.
Are you still planning a ride around the full route at the end of March?
Cheers

This Sunday (27th March) we are planning to cycle round the entire Black Route. It's going to be tough so come prepared for a long day (i.e. plenty of food, drink and money just in case you need to get a taxi home) in the saddle. We'll meet at the Perth Leisure Pool car park at 08:30, with the aim of leaving Perth by 08:45. We'll start and finish at the new Kinross High School. Plan to leave Kinross at 09:30. When will we return?...who knows!
I'll post further information later in the week. Are you IN or OUT?
Cheers, Alec.

I'm IN. A couple of my friends who have entered the Kinross Sportive are hoping to join us as well if that's okay.
Cheers

Hey Alec, How did Sunday's ride go? I did some of the mid-section, but I nearly came a cropper at Path of Condie. With all the gravel on the road I was struggling to get enough speed off before the t-junction at the bottom and I only narrowly avoided ending up in the fence. Did you all manage OK?
I have to say, that I only did about 50 miles, although it was the hilly bits, and I was totally bust. Seriously considering dropping down to the red route now.
